The secret training ground of 2011 Tour de France champion Cadel Evans the giant of a climb
at 2600 metres starts from our base in
Monachil and rises to over 3300 metres. However due to the amount of
snow it it not always open. We cycle to the bottom of the Sierra
Nevada Ski station that sits at 2600 metres above sea level.
The climb has been used on numerous occasions in the Tour of Andalucía
and the Vuelta España either as a stage finish or as an individual
time trial. The gradient is never steep , the roads are super smooth
and fairly car free. |
