Day 6 Alpe d'Huez and the Col de Sarenne

The last cycling day of the tour takes in a technical alpine road descent to Bourg d'Oisans and the start of the 21 bends of Alpe d'Huez.  Once we have reached the Alpe d'Huez Ski Resort we will continue onto the spectacular Col de Sarenne - we will descend this - a fantastic descent - and end up at the bottom of Les Deux Alpes again. If your legs have anything left we will be turning off at Freney and doing one more climb to traverse across to bend 16 of Alpe d'Huez.

Today's route takes us on some smaller roads that although are well surfaced  -  are not suitable for the minibus so there will be less support today. 

Agenda for the day

• Starting from Les Deux Alpes
• Descend Les Deux Alpes past Bons - a tight narrow descent -  and ride to the base of Alpe d'Huez
• Climb Alpe d'Huez
• Continue Climbing on to the Col de Sarenne
• Descend the technical road switchbacks on the Col de Sarenne
• Turn right at Freney d'Oisans and climb up towards Auris before traversing across to La Garde en Oisans
• Descend Alpe d'Huez from bend 16 and finishing back at base in Bourg d'Oisans
• Enjoy a meal in our house in Bourg d'Oisans and review of photos, stories and experiences from the tour!
