Col d'Izoard - Day 4
The Col d'Izoard is another
Tour de France classic having been used over 20 times
since the 1920s. It is the second highest climb on our tour
rising to 2361 metres. At the summit there is a small museum
with a memorial to the greats of the 1950's Fausto Coppi and
Louision Bobet. We will be climbing the north side
which starts just outside of our base for 2 nights -
Briançon and climbs for approximately 20 km at an
average gradient of 5.8 degrees, you then have the option of
descending the south side or returning the way you came.
